Pantyhose Do Not Decompose

Finding new uses for all the things we have been manufacturing as if there is no tomorrow is certainly going to make for a less polluted tomorrow.

Pantyhose do not decompose, even though they are regarded as a disposable product.

Katherine Soucie in Vancouver is a clothing designer dedicated to giving old hosiery new life. She gets old stock donated to her, that would otherwise end up in a landfill. After using environmentally friendly dyes, she sews the material together for her fashion forward line of clothes.

She uses everything right down to the little scraps of this ubiquitous petroleum product that we take for granted, countering the trend in the textile and clothing industry that wastes enormous quantities of material in production.

Imagine all the clothes that can be remade with materials we already have in abundance!
