Marin's Organic School Lunch program delivers farm fresh organic food directly to schools throughout Marin County, CA.

12,000 students a week -- that's about half the schools in the county -- benefit from the efforts of Marin Organic, who connects the farmers produce to the school's kitchens.

This program stands apart from the nationwide Farm to School program in that it is not just local, but organic produce going into the kid's lunches.

Scott Davidson of Marin Organic, explains in this video that the program was born out of the recognition that local organic farmers need support -- and what better market to connect them with than local schools?

"There are a lot of farmers in Marin County, and a lot of schools-- why not foster a relationship between the two?"
