This movie, The Future of Food has been a key tool in the American and international anti-GMO grassroots activist movements since its release in 2004.

During the 20th century, agriculture underwent major changes. The Green Revolution was a promise to feed millions more. New technologies produced higher yields, increased food production resulting in cheaper prices and greater availability.

There used to be 5,000 types of potatoes. Today, only 4 are widely grown.

The emergence of these mono crops presented an ominous dilemma: with the natural eco balance destroyed, the insects had a field day, and the more we sprayed the more we had to keep spraying. Nerve gas, developed during WW11 was slightly modified to make insecticides and DDT became the hero of it's generation.
