Dr. John McDougall addresses a myth that sugars contribute to cancer in his February 2017 Advanced Study Weekend.
Dr. McDougall's Health & Medical Center believes and teaches a diet that is based in starches, fruits and vegetables, with some exercise and sunlight.
Skip to 16:30 to get into the heart of the study. He says there are three levels of faulty thinking why it is believed that sugar contributes to cancer.
Dr. McDougall states that in all of these cases sugar is the "scapegoat" on the real problem, that animal foods and vegetable oils are the real problem.
He further states that the fats and proteins from animal products and oils are what deprive blood cells of oxygen and diets high in these things increase the risk for cancer NOT sugar.
